Creating a strategy for membership “saves” will SAVE you money and time!
How do you do this?
Financial reasons:
downgrade to mini membership
discount next month
last resort: pause but be sure you have a set date to follow up and get them back in!
“Not coming to class enough” - translation: this actually means they don’t see the VALUE in the classes
Research what classes they come to and suggest other teachers/classes that fit their patterns
Focus on the WHY and the HOW to help them see the value
If they still want to cancel, move to same strategies as in financial
Taking care of a loved one
Be compassionate and remind them that this is the time our practice is most necessary and that we need to make time for ourselves
Do you have a virtual option or a VOD library - this is a perfect place to remind people of this option
Offer to pause for a month and then discount the second month to keep them
Before you reply to anyone:
+ Go to their account and check out their behaviour+ Start your reply with personal notes first based on their behaviour
+ Be clear with your cancelation and suspension policies (revisit these if they need to be more clear or tightened up)
If they push on not buying anything … perhaps have a last ditch effort and have a secret 3 or 5 class card (I rarely suggest having this as a public pricing option!) that you can give them 50% off on. We want them to keep coming and give ourselves more chances to KEEP them.
